Court permits CBI to reopen Malegaon case

A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Thursday granted permission to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to reinvestigate the 2006 Malegaon blast case.

The agency moved an application before the court in the light of Swami Aseemanand's confession of his involvement in the Malegaon case, among other terror activities.

“In light of the disclosures made by Aseemanand before a Delhi court, we filed an application stating that we desire to look into the case and sought permission under section 173 sub clause 8 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to further investigate it. Special MCOCA judge Y.D. Shinde passed the order granting us the permission. The investigation officer was present in court,” Ejaz Khan, Senior Public Prosecutor of CBI told The Hindu.

A special team is likely to conduct the probe. “Like in any investigation, it's a team which carries out the probe,” a CBI official said.

Four bombs exploded on September 8, 2006 in the powerloom township of Malegaon in Nashik district. The blasts claimed 37 lives and injured over a 100 people. The State Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), who was investigating the case initially, filed a 2,200 page charge sheet on December 22, 2006, naming nine accused. The CBI took over the probe just the day before, on December 21, 2006.

The Vedic reason behind Ajmer blast

New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) The 2007 Ajmer Shariff blast was carried out to deter Hindus from going to the famous shrine and the act was carried out by a group of extremists whose members belonged to both majority and minority communities, Swami Aseemanand, an accused in the case has said in his confessional statement.

"A couple of days after the Ajmer blast, Sunil Joshi (a former RSS pracharak who was murdered) came to see me. He was accompanied by two men named Raj and Mehul, who had also visited Shabri Dham on previous occasions.

"Joshi claimed his men had perpetrated the blast and he was also present at Ajmer Dargah at the time of the blast. He said that Indresh (senior RSS leader) had provided him two Muslim boys to plant the bomb," he said in the statement.

3: The Peshwa Brahmins tortured millions of Dalits. The British army destroyed Peshwa rule with help of Mahars and soldiers of Madras Regiment. Just 800 soldiers of British defeated 30000 Peshwa soldiers. (You can imagine the much discussed gallantry of Peshwas)

4: Tukaram, the great anti-vedic Saint of Maharashtra was killed by a Brahmin Mambaji

5: Chakradhar Swami, another saint of the Mahanubhav sect was killed by a Marathi Brahmin Hemadri Pandit.

6: Kalusha Kabji, a Brahmins helped Aurangzeb to capture Chhatrapati Sambhaji, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

7: Brahmins tried to kill Mahatma Phule, the great social reformer and educationalist of 19th century.

8: The so Called `Lokmanya' Baal Gangadhar Tilak never wanted that the non-Brahmins should learn and take part in politics.

9. Chafekar brothers, the white Brahmins, killed a British officer. Today it is called their fight against British Rule. But the fact was that both the brothers wanted to join British Army but they were rejected because of their unilligibleity. Chafekars themselves have said in their letter to Bal Gangadhar Tilak that they killed Rand because he sent Shudra men to their house for spraying anti Plague powder. Because of this their holy home became unholy.

10. So called Swatanryaveer Sawarkar, a white Brahmin was actually `Mafiveer' as he begged British officers for mercy and was released on the condition that he would oppose Mahatma Gandhi. Sawarkar hated non-Brahmins

The Saffron color of Terrorism exposed

Although the Hindutva Terrorism was exposed during the enquiry of Nanded Bomb Blast investigation, the issue wasn't brought to the forefront due to the prevailing political conditions at that time. However, the attempts to shroud the reality couldn't be sustained for a long time, as the then Maharashtra ATS Chief Hemant karkare had initiated the investigation of the Malegaon Bomb Blast. Here, the Hindutva Terrorism was not only exposed, but had also become the highly debated topic in the country.

The media described it as the new face of terrorism, but in fact, this was the actual face of terrorism. Since the beginning of the anti social activities in the country, a well planned propaganda had been made in such a way that all The activities related to terrorism had been portrayed in such a way that it was done by the Muslims or from across the borders. To support the propaganda, the names of newer Muslim Organizations were being created to associate these activities with these fake organisations.

This trend has increased to such extents that even before the beginning of the investigation of any bomb blast or terror activities, the investigative agencies indirectly accuse the Muslims. The remaining job of tarnishing the image of Muslims will be performed by the National media. Baffled by the challenging situation, some of the Muslim Scholars tried to lighten the accusation, by issuing Fatwa against terrorism.

However, the demand for the removal of the terrorism label from the Muslim was opposed by asserting that it was correct that not every Muslim is a terrorist. But what was the reason for every terrorist to come out as a Muslim. In this regard, even a term of 'Islamic Terrorism” was formulated and the Madrasa education was described as the “Terrorism education”.

In reality, no one can deny the fact that except the Mumbai 93 bomb blasts, any allegation on Muslim has not been proved nor has any Muslim been convicted by the court, in any bomb blast case. On the other hand, only Muslims were arrested in all the incidents of bomb blasts. Only Muslims were arrested even in the Hyderabad's Makkah Masjid Blast and Ajmer blast, even after the recent CBI enquiry discovered the link of "Hindu Terrorists" in the attack. In the case of Makkah Masjid Blast the court has already acquitted all the Muslims arrested in this regard.

The enquiry of the former Maharashtra ATS Chief Hemant Karkare and the recent CBI enquiry has almost exposed the true colour of terrorism as saffron and the actual faces of terrorism have appeared in the form of Hindutva. Now, there is nobody to raise voices and ask that although every Hindu is not a terrorist, what is the reason for the fact that only Hindutva terrorism is mentioned in every terrorism activity? People are now claiming that terrorists have no religion, therefore Hindu or Hindutva terrorism should not be mentioned.

Interesting, until the enquiry of Malegaon bomb blast that occurred in 2008, people were constantly talking about Islamic terrorism. Now, after the exposure of the truth, they are constantly clarifying and are either denying their association with these exposed faces of terrorism or are terminating relationship with such people.

One of the recent developments with this regard is that RSS has declared that none of the RSS associates will have any relationship with any NGOs. Different outfits have been linked in various bomb blasts that have occurred in the country. Off late Bajrang Dal was allegedly associated with the bomb blasts that took place in Parbhani, Jalana, Nanded and Kanpur; Whereas Sanathan Sanstha was said to be involved in Goa bomb blast and Abhinav bharath in Malegaon Bomb blast. Several attempts were made to show that these were small self styled outfits that were involved in destructive activities.

However, the investigation of Malegaon, Makkah Masjid and Ajmer bomb blast cases has put many people in a fix, as the investigative agencies allegedly suspect Indresh Kumar, Sunil Joshi, Devendra Gupta, Swami Asimannad, Dayanand Pande, Ashok Warshane, Anand Ashok Beri from the RSS group; BL Sharma Prem of the BJP; Ramesh Upadhayaye, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Shrikanth Purohit and Lokesh Sharma belonging to Abhinav Bharath.

The investigation regarding Ram Chandra Kalsangra, Sandeep Dange, Rakesh Dharwade, and Sharad Kante is on. This is a wide network, which is active from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh, from Gujarat and Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh, and from Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh. Although, the names of the organizations and the outfits are different, their faces are the same. However, the plots for the bomb blast are formed at one place. Training is given at a single place, even the bombs are manufactured at a single place.

There might be many such organizations which are yet to be exposed. However, because of the political motives, the real colour and the actual faces haven't been exposed yet. Today's CBI findings were already exposed by Hemanth Karkare long ago. However, his investigations were suppressed. Still, subsequent to the breakup of the unity of the opposition against the rising inflation, one cannot guarantee that the findings of the Makkah Masjid and Ajmer bomb blast wouldn't be suppressed, as was done to the Malegaon bomb blast findings.

Although, it is a clear fact now that the bomb blasts in the country are the handiwork of Hindutva groups rather than Muslims, the CBI and the recently formed National Investigation Agency are not investigating these blasts with the view that the real facts will be exposed. Such issues are raised as bubbles in water only for political gains and are later suppressed after the purpose is fulfilled. Hence the real face and the true color of terrorism in the country are still under the clouds.

RSS link in terror acts

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS) Stung by the Opposition over the WikiLeaks cables that caught Rahul Gandhi on the wrong foot over Hindu terror, the Congress on Saturday launched an offensive on the saffron group alleging RSS connection in acts of terror.

Speaking to reporters on the first day of the three-day Congress plenary session at Burari here, senior leader Digvijay Singh said RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi who was found murdered sometime back was involved in many acts of terror.

Congress source were quoted saying in media that the party during its ongoing plenary session is likely to adopt resolutions on the issue and ask the government to probe “terror links of the RSS”.

"Sunil Joshi, an RSS pracharak of Devas [Madhya Pradesh] - who was involved in the Nimama murder case in Indore district, involved in Mau bomb blast, involved in Mecca Masjid blast, was involved in Ajmer Sharif Dargah bomb blast, was involved in Samjhauta Express blast - was murdered in Devas sometime back,” Digvijay Singh said.

“At that time only I had demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of Sunil Joshi because he knew too much.

“It is extremely intriguing that the Madhya Pradesh government headed by the BJP refused to probe against him at that time,” he said, adding that Joshi knew too much but the case was closed citing insufficient evidence.

“The credit goes to the National Investigative Agency (NIA) and the ATS (Rajasthan Police) who got hold of Harshad Solanki - who has now owned up and named two persons from Madhya Pradesh and two other persons from Gujarat - Mr Katare and Mr Parmar from Devas and Indore and two from Baroda. All of them are RSS activists," Singh said.

Meanwhile, besides the issue of right wing terrorism, the draft resolutions at the plenary is likely to adopt that Congress is the only pan-India national party with pan-India existence.

Party president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday chaired the meeting of the Subjects Committee that would finalise the resolutions to be adopted.

RSS similar to Hitler's Nazi troops: Digvijay

New Delhi, Dec 19: Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has turned to be the new media dear with controversies one after another. Now, he has started an open attack against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) by equating it with German Nazis.

While addressing the 83rd Congress Party plenary, Digvijay Singh said that RSS is targeting Muslims and trying to sow seeds of Muslim hatred in the minds of the new generation.

"The RSS in the garb of its nationalist ideology is targetting Muslims the same way Nazis targeted Jews in the 1930s," Digvijay Singh said.

He stated RSS' Muslim hatred as "the biggest danger for India" and alleged that RSS has been trying to enter its activists to bureaucracy and Army.

Digvijay Singh also slammed BJP and said that terrorism in India had started with LK Advani's rath yatra.

"Demolition of the Babri Masjid, the martyrdom of the Babri Masjid is the darkest patch in the history of India. The roots of terrorism in India lie in BJP leader LK Advani's rath yatra," he added.

Earlier, Digvijay Singh indirectly attacked RSS and Hindu extremists group by saying that slain ATS Chief Hemant Karkare received threat calls for probing Malegon blast, which hinted Hindu extremists involvement.

Vedic Brahmins destroyed Buddhism in India

Many wonder why Buddhism disappeared from the Subcontinent but thrives in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and in Sri Lanka. Many Hindus claim that Buddha was a Hindu God. Of course Buddhists in China, Thailand and other countries and in India do not accept that doctrine. In fact Buddhism was hounded out of its birthplace.

Various theories have been put forward which seek to explain the tragic eclipse of Buddhism from India. According to one view, corruption in the Buddhist sangha or priesthood precipitated Buddhism’s ultimate decline. While it is true that with time the Buddhist priests became increasingly lax in the observance of religious rules, corruption alone cannot explain the death of Buddhism. After all, Buddhism was replaced by an even more corrupt Brahminism. Another theory is that Buddhism disappeared from India in the wake of the Arab and Turkish invasions in which many Buddhists were said to have been killed. However, this theory, too, seems not to be convincing as a complete explanation of the extinction of Buddhism in India .

After all, in places such as Bengal and Sind, which were ruled by Brahminical dynasties but had Buddhist majorities, Buddhists are said to have welcomed the Muslims as saviours who had freed them from the tyranny of ‘upper’ caste rule. This explains why most of the ‘lower-caste’ people in Eastern Bengal and Sind embraced Islam. Few, if any, among the ‘upper’ castes of these regions did the same.

Since Buddhism was replaced by triumphant Brahminism, the eclipse of Buddhism in India was obviously primarily a result of the Brahminical revival. The Buddha was a true revolutionary—and his crusade against Brahminical supremacy won him his most ardent followers from among the oppressed castes. The Buddha challenged the divinity of the Vedas, the bedrock of Brahminism. He held that all men are equal and that the caste system or varnashramadharma, to which the Vedas and Other Brah’minical’ books had given religious sanction, was completely false. Thus, in the Anguttara Nikaya, the Buddha is said to have exhorted the Bhikkus, saying, Just, O brethren, as the great rivers, when they have emptied themselves into the Great Ocean, lose their different names and are known as the Great Ocean Just so, O brethren, do the four varnasâ “Kshatriya, Brahmin, Vaishya and Sudraâ”when they begin to follow the doctrine and discipline propounded by the Tathagata [i.e. the Buddha], renounce the different names of caste and rank and become the members of one and the same society.

Indian Muslims not attached to extremism

India's over 150 million Muslim population is largely unattached to extremism, US diplomatic cables have said, endorsing India's vibrant democracy, inclusive culture and nationalistic nature of the minority community. "Separatism and religious extremism have little appeal to Indian Muslims, and the overwhelming majority espouses moderate doctrines," Former US envoy to India, David Mulford said in a cable released by whistle blower website WikiLeaks.

"India's growing economy, vibrant democracy, and inclusive culture, encourage Muslims to seek success and social mobility in the mainstream and reduces alienation.

With Indian Muslim youth increasingly comfortable in the mainstream, the pool of potential recruits is shrinking, while Muslim families and communities provide little sanction or support to extremist appeals," the cable said.

India is home to a wide variety of extremist groups, including religious extremists (Hindu, Muslim and Sikh).

The vast majority (of Muslims) remain committed to the Indian state and seek to participate in mainstream political and economic life, it said.

"India's vibrant democracy, inclusive culture and growing economy have made it easier for Muslim youth to find a place in the mainstream, reduced the pool of potential recruits, and the space in which Islamic extremist organizations can operate," the leaked WikiLeaks cable said, according to Guardian.

Although there are a wide variety of Islamic religious, political and social organizations, most Muslims join or support secular groups without a specific Islamic identity.

No exclusively Muslim organization has succeeded in mobilizing more than a small portion of the Muslim faithful.

India's vibrant democracy has ensured that the large Muslim community has a voice in politics and recent elections have demonstrated that Muslim voters are courted actively by political parties, the leaked cable said.

"With a Muslim President (APJ Abdul Kalam) occupying the highest political position in the country, Muslims have been encouraged to seek political power in electoral and parliamentary politics, all but eliminating the appeal of violent extremism," the cable added.

India's secular education system increasingly integrates Muslim students into the mainstream and has spawned a growing and prosperous Muslim middle class.

The cable said, "Young and dynamic Muslims are popular culture heroes in sports (Sania Mirza) and Bollywood (Sharrukh Khan and many others). The message for young Muslims is that they are Indians first and Muslims second, and that they can fully participate in Indian society and culture and win the adulation and respect of other Indians, regardless of religion."

Answer SM Mushrif Questions: High Court Tells Govt.

The high court on Wednesday sought a reply from the government on whether it has investigated the issues raised in former inspector general of police SM Mushrif’s book Who killed Karkare.

The division bench of justice BH Marlapalle and justice UD Salvi were hearing two petitions, one by former Bihar MLA Radhakant Yadav and another by Jyoti Bedekar, alleging that ATS chief Hemant Karkare’s death was orchestrated by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) personnel and members of “right-wing terrorist outfit” Abhinav Bharat.

“We feel these are relevant. The theory of deep-rooted conspiracy, has it been investigated into,” asked Marlapalle. The judges said they read the book and they would “go into areas of concern and not conclusions he (Mushrif) has drawn”. Mushrif, who was summoned by the court, was present. The judges also remarked that Mushrif “as a citizen has a right to air his views”.

According to the judges, the book states that as early as November 19, 2010, secret information was passed to Prabhakar Alok, jointdirector of IB, through the cabinet secretary and it contained 35 cell phone numbers under surveillance. However, this was not passed to the Maharashtra police or the Western Naval Command.

While 32 SIM cards were purchased from Kolkata, three were acquired from Maharashtra, and two SIM owner from Satara were interrogated by the police. “What happened to that,” asked Marlapalle.
The book narrates IAS officer Bhushan Gagrani saying his staff had heard a terrorist at Cama talking in Marathi. “If there was a Marathi-speaking terrorist, surely he would not have come from Pakistan,” said Marlapalle. The book revealed that 16 CCTVs at CST were not working and questioned if it was deliberate or somebody tampered with them. “Has the police investigated these areas. Find out the exact situation and tell us,” Marlapalle told public prosecutor PA Pol. The reply has to be filed within a week.

I did not kill Karkare, Salaskar: Kasab

Describing evidence against him in the 26/11 attacks as "weak", Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab today asserted before Bombay High Court that police had not been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt he had killed police officers Hemant Karkare and Vijay Salaskar.

His lawyer, Amin Solkar , harped on trial judge M L Tahaliyani's observation in the verdict that bullets recovered from bodies of Karkare and Salaskar did not tally with the weapons of Kasab and Abu Ismail, though bullets found in police officer Ashok Kamte's body matched with Ismail's rifle.

There was no conclusive evidence to prove that Kasab was present at the spot, near Cama Hospital , where Karkare and two other officers were gunned down and also to show that he had fired at them, Solkar, who concluded arguments on Kasab's appeal against death sentence awarded to him in 26/11 attack case, said.

Why did Nagpur ATS halt Malegaon probe?

NAGPUR: The investigation into the Jabalpur-link in the Malegaon blast, triggered by a Hindu terror group in 2008, was being conducted by the city unit of state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in full steam. But the probe lost its zeal for the reasons best known to ATS after their chief Hemant Karkare was killed during the 26/11 attack in Mumbai.

Not much has been heard about the case again from the ATS officials. Karkare's death recently has triggered much controversy with Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, also former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, kicking up a storm claiming the hands of influential Hindu terror groups behind the elimination of the former ATS chief.

It took another turn after Karkare's widow Kavita lambasted Singh for playing politics with her husband's death. She said to imply that Hindu terror group had a hand in his killing when he was obviously killed by Pakistani terrorists was not right leading Singh to backtrack on parts of his remarks.

Karkare too was learnt to be under pressure during the probe into Hindu terror groups which he wanted to expose. The senior politician had claimed that Karkare had expressed his concern in a telephonic conversation with Singh shortly before latter's death.

Karkare's death was brought under scanner by SM Mushrif, retired inspector general of police, who in his book 'Who killed Karkare: The real face of terrorism in India' blamed the Hindu fascist forces in getting Karkare killed.

Whether it was owing to Karkare's death or under influence of explained sources, the local ATS unit too did not proceed further after having unearthed substantial network of Abhinav Bharat operating in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh in 2008.

The ATS sleuths were also in the process of probing the links of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, one of the main conspirators of the blast, with local businessmen from Jabalpur. Nagpur ATS had come across crucial details of a meeting that had taken place at Jabalpur in presence of Abhinav Bharat's local cadres. A member of the group Ashok Chawla was also netted and brought to city by ATS. The probe was halted thereafter and remains unheard of still.

Hindu extremist groups greater threat to India: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi, the "crown prince" of Indian politics, told the US ambassador at a lunch last year that Hindu extremist groups could pose a greater threat to his country than Muslim militants- WikiLeaks cables

Rahul Gandhi warned Timothy Roemer that although "there was evidence of some support for [Islamic terrorist group Laskar-e-Taiba] among certain elements in India's indigenous Muslim community, the bigger threat may be the growth of radicalised Hindu groups, which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community".

"the risk of a 'home-grown' extremist front, reacting to terror attacks coming from Pakistan or from Islamist groups in India, was a growing concern and one that demanded constant attention". He added.
